Going from the sea towards the hill in the Imperia hinterland, you reach Valloria, the town of painted doors. Syusy accompanies us along the tourist-artistic itinerary worked out to let people see all the doors, the works of art of the town, meeting the artists Mario Borella and Giovanni Scremin. It really is a unique place, which today draws important painters, not only local, to make their own artistic contribution. The painted doors are in different styles: some are naïf, others ‘70s style, some modern, others restructured as they once were... The themes of the paintings are also very disparate: from landscapes to still-lifes, from portraits and human figures to objects and symbols ... It is an itinerary where everyone can stop in front of the works of art outdoors that most strike them.
Where do people party in Valloria? Syusy discovers that a big area exists for partying, in the setting of a raised olive grove, where painters meet and where there is also room for a thousand or so people! There are many pretexts for meeting, beginning from gastronomy: the food is good and there is a lot of care over recovery of old recipes...
Going round the town don’t forget to call in at the main church, where Manfred plays the organ ...
