We enter Porto Lotti together with Mattia, the commander of Adriatica, who explains to us that the entrance is simple, very sheltered and protected. However, you have to look out for an oil station looking to the north. To enter you need to contact channel 9 and to ask for permission, and then you give the name of the boat and the draught. Don’t forget to sail at most at 2 knots.
Porto Lotti is halfway along the Gulf of La Spezia, a sort of paradise for sailors which mainly receives luxury boats.
We are welcomed on the quay by Mario Parmeggiani, the administrator of Porto Lotti S.p.A. From his stories we discover that the harbour was converted from an industrial zone to a tourist place and today provides reception and parking and services. And there is also a fine lift that raises boats up to 30 metres long and a boatyard for every type of maintenance.
In addition to “maritime” services, at Porto Lotti sailors can also find some services for tourism on land, a charter of services, and a touchscreen to discover all possible excursions and a weather station.
Apart from the services, however, one also needs to think about the charges: Mario Parmeggiani assures us that the prices are proportional to the quality. For example, for a boat like Adriatica, 22 metres long, the cost is 25,000 euros a year. Like in a marine 4-star hotel!
The harbour provides the following services:
- Health transport

- Laundromat
- Fishing articles
- Freezers - Refrigerators
- Sea rescue
- Short-stay car park
- Long-stay car park
- Broker services
